About the Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant , you’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups .
- Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons.
- Supporting children who require additional help accessing the curriculum.
- Delivering targeted interventions in areas such as English and Maths.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs .
- Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Helping create a calm, inclusive and engaging classroom environment .
- Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
- Helping pupils get the most out of their time at school.
? The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is positive, reliable and genuinely passionate about working with children .
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children .
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- A good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum .
- Confidence supporting children with a range of learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, caring and approachable personality.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
- A genuine commitment to helping children reach their potential.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.
We’re also keen to hear from graduates and candidates with childcare, youth work, sports coaching or other relevant experience who are looking to begin a career in education.
