Full-Time Location: Brighton, East Sussex Hours: 08:30am – 4:00pm Type: [Full-Time / Long-Term / Permanent] Salary: £34,069 to £52,835 Plus ( SEN ) allowance between £2,885 and £5,690 Key Stages: KS1 & KS2

? What Will You Be Doing?

As a Primary SEN Teacher , you’ll:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons .
  • Adapt the Primary curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development .
  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Create a structured classroom where children feel safe, confident and ready to learn .
  • Develop and review individual education plans.
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents and other professionals .
  • Encourage communication, independence and confidence.
  • Celebrate every achievement, big or small.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect and acceptance .

Essential:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Primary teaching experience.
  • A strong understanding of the Primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working within a SEND setting .
  • Experience supporting children with ASD/autism, speech and language difficulties or developmental delays .
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, sensory strategies or assistive technology .

SEN experience is desirable, but we're also interested in hearing from enthusiastic Primary Teachers who are keen to develop their SEND experience.
