Enersense Engineering is currently looking for a Design Manager for its client in Porvoo.

The work begins as soon as possible.

An excellent opportunity is offered to participate in a large-scale tank renewal project from the preliminary design phase and follow the project all the way to implementation and commissioning. The work is initially part-time for approximately 6–8 months while the project is in the preliminary design phase. After this, the scope and responsibilities of the project will increase.

As a Design Manager, you will work in close cooperation with the Project Manager and be responsible for leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design work, ensuring the successful progress of the project.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the overall coordination of the project's design activities in cooperation with the Project Manager.
• You lead and coordinate the activities of different design disciplines, including civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process design.

• You define the project scope, objectives, deliverables, project plans, and schedules.
• You plan design resources together with the different design disciplines.

• You lead the design team and are responsible for the distribution of tasks.
• You support concept design during the preliminary investigation phase.

• You work in close cooperation with the site organization to ensure smooth implementation and to resolve coordination challenges between different design disciplines.
• You coordinate design related to tanks, pumps, piping, valves, and related process equipment.

• You are responsible for managing design documentation and reporting on the project's progress.
• You ensure that the design work meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and other applicable regulations.

Requirements:

• An appropriate Engineer or Master of Science in Engineering degree.
• Experience in large industrial design projects, especially brownfield projects.

• A good understanding of design processes, multidisciplinary design, and local regulations.
• Experience in project design, design management, the preliminary design phase, and supporting implementation.

• Site experience as well as knowledge of tanks, pumps, piping, and valves.
• Excellent technical problem-solving, communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

• Experience in leading design teams and the ability to prioritize tasks even under pressure.
• Proficiency in English.
