Operations Manager

Middle East

We are supporting a global manufacturer of highly engineered electrical interconnect, power and signal solutions in the appointment of an experienced operations manager for its Middle East business, based in Sharjah.

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of the regional business, with particular responsibility for shipping, logistics, warehousing, order fulfilment and supply chain coordination across the Middle East.

The successful candidate will ensure that products, materials and customer orders move efficiently through the business while maintaining high standards of delivery, inventory control, compliance and customer service.

About the role

The operations manager will take ownership of regional operational activities from order receipt through to final customer delivery, working closely with sales, procurement, production, customer service, finance and international manufacturing locations.

You will be responsible for developing efficient processes, improving visibility across the supply chain and ensuring the business can support continued growth across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and wider Middle East region. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands the operational demands of an international manufacturing or engineered-products environment and is comfortable managing both people and processes.

Key responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations across the Sharjah business, including shipping, logistics, warehousing, inventory and order fulfilment.

Manage inbound and outbound shipments across the Middle East, ensuring accurate documentation, customs compliance and on-time delivery.

Oversee regional freight forwarders, couriers, logistics providers and other third-party partners.

Coordinate closely with procurement and international manufacturing facilities to manage material availability and customer demand.

Maintain effective inventory controls, stock accuracy and warehouse processes while identifying opportunities to improve working capital and stock utilisation.

Monitor customer orders from receipt through dispatch and delivery, proactively resolving delays, shortages or operational issues.

Develop and monitor operational KPIs covering delivery performance, inventory, freight, order processing and customer service.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs and support business growth.

Ensure compliance with UAE import/export regulations, customs requirements, trade documentation and internal company procedures.

Lead, develop and support the local operations and logistics team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Skills & experience

Strong experience in operations, logistics, supply chain or distribution management within the UAE or Middle East.

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, electrical, industrial or technically engineered product environment would be highly advantageous.

Strong knowledge of international shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance and import/export procedures.

Experience managing warehousing, inventory control and order fulfilment operations.

Demonstrable experience improving operational processes, delivery performance and supply chain efficiency.

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage logistics costs, suppliers and service providers.

Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; exposure to systems such as Epicor, SAP or similar platforms would be beneficial.

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Comfortable working within an international organisation and coordinating with teams across multiple countries and time zones.

Qualifications

A degree or professional qualification in supply chain, logistics, operations management, business, engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous, although relevant operational experience will be equally valued.
