Senior Fermentation Scientist

The role
We are looking for a Senior Fermentation Scientist with industrial scale-up experience to help our clients get Enduro Sense working in their processes at scale.
You will be bioprocess lead on client projects. You will get to know each client's process, plan how Enduro Sense strains are tested in our lab and at the client's pilot or production site and make sure the results translate both ways.
You will report to the Director of Bioprocess Technology and work with project leads, strain engineers and the bioprocess team in Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as with clients' bioprocess and manufacturing teams.
This role is perfect for an industry-seasoned fermentation scientist who is passionate about delivering new bioprocess science to create tangible client impact while closely collaborating with a highly dedicated team. You enjoy working hands-on with the most challenging parts of a bioprocess, taking responsibility and executing lab processes with the highest standards.
You thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven setting, where you will establish and maintain best industry practices together with the bioprocess team, while you can keep a good overview of multiple, diverse projects..
Responsibilities
Lead the bioprocess work on customer projects, from first review of the customer's process to lab implementation at Enduro to client campaigns at pilot and production scale
Tech transfer in/out customer processes for our client delivery projects
Support scale-up of Enduro Sense strains at customer sites, including run plans, sampling and data review
Design and interpret campaigns in bioreactors at Enduro and client
Analyse data from runs in diverse settings and turn it into clear plans and recommendations
Present bioprocess results to customers and be their main technical contact
Mentor fermentation scientists and associates in scale-up
Your profile
PhD or MSc in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, microbiology, biotechnology or similar
+7 years of industrial experience with microbial fermentation, including scale-up to pilot and production scale
Experience with successful tech transfer to or from pilot plants, CMOs or manufacturing sites
Sound understanding of how scale might impact physiology and performance of the most common industrial cell factories ( E coli , Pichia , Saccharomyces , Bacillus )
Enjoying collaboration in larger teams and directly with our clients
Fluent in English
It is a plus if you have:
Hands-on experience with AMBR250 or other high-throughput bioreactor systems
Experience with advanced data management of lab-scale and industrial bioprocess data
Worked with long fermentations, incl. semi-continuous / continuous processes
Experience from a technology provider, CDMO or other customer-facing role
Experience working with CHO bioprocesses
Experience mentoring colleagues or leading projects
