What You'll Do

As a Process Engineer, you'll take responsibility for developing, documenting, controlling, and improving manufacturing processes associated with thin-gauge refractory metal sheet and foil. You'll:

Develop, document, and oversee manufacturing processes for flat-rolled molybdenum, tungsten, and toll-processing products

Develop and maintain OPCs, BOMs, routings, and detailed manufacturing instructions

Make sure documented processes accurately reflect actual production practices

Partner with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure quality, safety, and workmanship standards are met or exceeded

Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve capability, consistency, and material yield

Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and methods

Evaluate and introduce new equipment and tooling

Support the development and introduction of new products

Work directly with employees on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot and resolve process problems

Provide technical support to customers to define product and process requirements

Help troubleshoot existing customer materials and applications

Partner with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to investigate nonconforming material

Support the resolution of customer complaints

Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions

Perform FMEA and other analyses in support of quality and process-improvement initiatives

Ensure manufacturing processes support both customer requirements and appropriate product costing

Requirements:

You Could Be a Great Fit!

This role requires an engineering foundation combined with relevant manufacturing experience. You could be a strong fit if you have:

A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline

3–5 years of experience in metal forming processes preferred

Experience developing, documenting, or improving manufacturing processes

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills

The ability to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing

The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Manufacturing and Quality

A willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor understanding processes and solving problems at the source

A results-oriented approach and the initiative to move improvements forward

Additional Tools in Your Toolbox

Experience in any of these areas can help you hit the ground running:

Flat rolling

Refractory metals

Molybdenum or tungsten processing

Thin-gauge sheet or foil manufacturing

Hot working of metals

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Lean Manufacturing

Six Sigma

FMEA

Corrective and preventive action

Process capability analysis

Material yield improvement

New equipment or tooling implementation

New product introduction

Experience with SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and hot working of metal products is preferred rather than required.

What Success Looks Like

Successful Process Engineers make manufacturing processes easier to understand, control, and improve. You'll know you're succeeding when:

Manufacturing documentation accurately reflects what happens on the production floor

SOPs, BOMs, routings, and work instructions are accurate and usable

Manufacturing processes consistently meet customer requirements

Process capability and material yields improve

Production problems are investigated and resolved instead of repeatedly worked around

Quality issues and nonconforming material are addressed systematically

Corrective actions address underlying causes

New equipment, tooling, and processes transition successfully into production

New products can be manufactured consistently and efficiently

Manufacturing and Quality see Engineering as a practical partner in solving problems

Customers receive knowledgeable technical support when process or material questions arise

Engineering That Happens on the Manufacturing Floor

This isn't a role where process engineering happens entirely behind a computer. When a process isn't performing as expected, you'll work directly with the people running it. You'll review the data, understand what is happening to the material, identify potential causes, and determine what needs to change.

That could mean modifying a process, improving tooling, revising manufacturing instructions, investigating a quality problem, evaluating new equipment, or determining why material yield isn't where it should be. The goal is to understand the process well enough to make it more capable, consistent, and efficient.

Develop Expertise in Flat-Rolled Refractory Metals

Elmet specializes in high-performance materials including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, and niobium . At Euclid, this role focuses specifically on the manufacturing processes associated with thin-gauge refractory metal sheet and foil .

That gives you the opportunity to deepen your expertise in flat rolling and advanced materials while building broader experience across process engineering, metallurgy, quality, equipment, tooling, and continuous improvement.

Build Products That Perform Where It Matters

Elmet Technologies is a U.S.-based manufacturer of precision-engineered products serving demanding industries including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy . Our Euclid operation combines specialized materials with advanced manufacturing processes to produce products where consistency, quality, and performance matter.

As a Process Engineer, your work will directly influence how those products are manufactured, how effectively our processes perform, and how we continue improving them.
