Software Engineer - Java

Job Description

• We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer – Java with 2–3 years of experience in Java application development.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications while ensuring high-quality code, adherence to development standards, and successful project delivery.
• Experience with Angular is preferred, and candidates should be comfortable working on application maintenance and enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements in collaboration with Business Analysts and Team Leads.
• Translate functional specifications into technical designs and scalable application solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in application configuration management, including software changes, documentation, and version control.
• Develop unit test cases, execute testing, and document results to ensure application quality.
• Support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production implementation activities. I
• nvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and production issues through root cause analysis.
• Ensure application security and compliance with development and security guidelines.
• Participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and application documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements and support ongoing maintenance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and enterprise application development.
• Experience with Angular is highly preferred.
• Comfortable working on application maintenance, bug fixing, and enhancement projects.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, and development best practices.
• Experience in unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or similar).
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Understanding of application security and secure coding practices.
