Transport Coordinator

Elevation Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Transport Coordinator to join a manufacturing business in Ossett, Wakefield.

Your tasks

You’ll be responsible for coordinating daily transport operations, scheduling customer deliveries and collections, managing hauliers and working closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure orders are delivered on time and within budget.

• Schedule daily customer deliveries and coordinate transport from external warehouse sites.
• Maximise vehicle capacity and arrange subcontracted hauliers when required, negotiating competitive rates.
• Liaise with production, customer service, purchasing and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries and collections.
• Prepare daily loading schedules and communicate changes to warehouse teams.
• Monitor haulier performance, delivery issues and transport costs.
• Raise purchase orders and ensure transport invoices are processed accurately.

Requirements

• At least three years’ experience in warehousing and logistics.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good IT skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident negotiating with hauliers and working to tight deadlines.

Experience in FMCG, knowledge of European geography and familiarity with Unity software would be advantageous.

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Location: Ossett, Wakefield
