Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently partnered with an impressive, market-leading business based in Brigg, who are looking to expand their finance team with the appointment of a Transactional Finance Lead .

The Transactional Finance Lead will take responsibility for overseeing and managing the company’s transactional finance activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of banking, sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and cash management operations.

The successful candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic and confident in taking ownership of their workload, whilst providing support across the wider finance function. They will be comfortable building positive working relationships across the business and bring a f lexible, solutions-focused approach to their work.

As the business continues to grow, there will also be a real focus on process improvement and automation, so we’re looking for someone who is keen to challenge existing processes, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and play an active role in the continued development of the finance function.

Duties include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day purchase and sales ledger functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Manage banking activities, including cash receipts, payments, reconciliations and account administration.
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with company policies and approval procedures.
  • Monitor cash balances and support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Lead customer debt collection, reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
  • Manage and resolve customer and supplier queries.
  • Produce and analyse aged debt, cash and ledger reports, providing commentary where required.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, audit trails and accurate records across transactional finance.
  • Support month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and ledger reviews.
  • Identify process improvements, automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency and control.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues, acting as a key point of contact for transactional finance queries.

  • Be proactive, professional and enthusiastic, taking ownership of workload and supporting the wider team.
  • Have excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, controls and delivering work right first time.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in an automated processing environment.
  • Experience managing various transactional finance activities within a busy finance environment.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes, payment runs, reconciliations and cash management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
