Transactional Assistant

Your tasks

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience who enjoys taking ownership of their workload, building relationships with stakeholders and ensuring financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Working as part of a wider finance team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of purchase and sales ledgers across several operating companies, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, payments are made on time and customer accounts are well managed.

Key responsibilities will include

• Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities across multiple companies.
• Processing supplier and customer invoices accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Maintaining supplier and customer accounts, including setting up new accounts and updating existing details.
• Ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, including supporting fortnightly payment runs.
• Managing credit control activities, monitoring outstanding debts and ensuring customers pay within agreed terms.
• Reviewing aged debtor and creditor reports, alongside supplier reconciliations.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and reconciliation procedures.
• Supporting the wider finance team to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has

• Previous experience working across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
• Strong IT skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel.

Experience working within a larger, multi-company organisation and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous but are not essential.
