About the company

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a business in Rotherham to recruit a Payroll Administrator on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join an established team, take responsibility for accurate payroll processing and develop their skills within a supportive working environment.

Your tasks

Your responsibilities will include

• Processing end-to-end UK payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
• Completing pre-payroll and post-payroll checks, including monthly payroll reconciliations.
• Processing statutory payments, deductions and pension contributions.
• Preparing and submitting HMRC Real Time Information returns and other statutory documentation.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and handling sensitive payroll information confidentially.
• Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving employee queries promptly.
• Supporting the preparation of P60s, P11Ds and other payroll-related documentation.
• Ensuring payroll activities comply with current legislation, HMRC requirements and GDPR.
• Assisting with payroll audits and maintaining high standards of data accuracy.

Requirements

To be successful in this Payroll Administrator role, you will have:

• Previous experience processing UK payroll from start to finish, with minimal supervision.
• Experience using payroll software such as Sage, with the ability to learn new systems.
• A good working knowledge of HMRC submissions, RTI and pension auto-enrolment.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, sorting and filtering data, and pivot tables.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to strict monthly deadlines.
• A professional approach to handling confidential employee information.
• Good communication skills and the ability to resolve payroll queries effectively.
