NDT Technician
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am – 4:15pm Contract: Permanent Working Pattern: 4-day week
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business who are looking to appoint two NDT Technicians to join their inspection team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NDT Technician with PCN certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to join a highly technical manufacturing environment.
The role offers a genuine 4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, giving you a long weekend every week, alongside the opportunity to work across a varied range of products and inspection activities.
As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of non-destructive testing and inspection activities across tubes, forgings, rolled bar and manufactured cylinders, ensuring products meet the required international standards and customer specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out manual Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to recognised international standards on tubes, forgings and rolled bar.
- Setting up, calibrating and operating automated Ultrasonic Testing equipment for the inspection of forged products.
- Carrying out Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and other NDT activities as required.
- Providing technical advice and support on matters relating to non-destructive testing.
- Producing accurate reports covering calibration, inspection and testing activities.
- Ensuring inspection activities are completed in line with manufacturing standards, procedures and customer requirements.
- Supporting first article inspections as part of the component qualification process.
- Maintaining accurate inspection and traceability records.
- Carrying out product identification and marking to ensure full traceability throughout its operational lifespan.
- Supporting visiting third-party inspectors and customers whilst they are working within inspection areas.
- Supporting the wider service and Integrity Management team through occasional deployment to customer sites, potentially worldwide.
- Performing additional NDT activities and inspection duties as required.
About You We are looking for an experienced NDT professional who is confident working within a technically demanding engineering or manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
- PCN certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- PCN certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).
- Previous experience working within heavy engineering and manufacturing
- Strong practical experience carrying out manual UT inspections.
- Experience setting up and operating NDT equipment and interpreting inspection results.
- A strong understanding of inspection standards, procedures and product traceability.
- The ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation and reports.
- A strong focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
- The confidence to work independently whilst also contributing effectively within a wider inspection and production team.
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to customer sites, including potentially international locations.
