About the company

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist organisation that supports medical professionals through complex and often highly sensitive claims. They are looking to appoint an experienced Claims Manager who combines strong technical expertise with a genuinely empathetic, personable and proactive approach.

Your tasks

This is an opportunity to manage your own caseload from start to finish, exercising your judgement and authority while supporting healthcare professionals through some of the most challenging periods of their careers.

As Claims Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for your own portfolio of claims, managing cases through to resolution rather than passing them between teams. You’ll combine technical expertise with sound decision-making, proactive case management and a strong focus on the individual behind each claim.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing a caseload of clinical or professional negligence claims from initial notification through to resolution.
  • Taking ownership of claims, making informed decisions and progressing cases using your own delegated authority.
  • Supporting doctors, dentists and other medical professionals through complex, sensitive and often distressing circumstances.
  • Building trusted relationships with members, providing clear communication, reassurance and practical guidance throughout the claims process.
  • Proactively identifying risks, resolving issues and ensuring cases progress efficiently and appropriately.
  • Working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Balancing robust claims management with a compassionate, member-first approach.

Requirements

Are you an experienced Claims Manager looking for a role where you can take full ownership of your cases while making a genuine difference to the people you support?

You’ll be an experienced claims professional who is confident managing complex cases independently and comfortable taking responsibility for decisions and outcomes.

We’re particularly interested in individuals who have

  • Experience independently managing their own claims caseload.
  • Experience in clinical negligence, medical malpractice or relevant professional negligence claims.
  • The technical knowledge and judgement to run claims through to resolution, with appropriate authority.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the warmth and empathy to support people facing difficult and potentially life-changing situations.
  • A proactive, organised approach and the confidence to take ownership rather than wait for issues to arise.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with doctors, dentists and other professional stakeholders.

A legal qualification is not essential. We’re interested in your claims experience, technical capability and ability to manage cases independently.

Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who genuinely cares about the people behind the claims. You’ll know how to balance professional objectivity with sensitivity, reassurance and compassion.

What we offer

  • Salary up to £70,000
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Pension: 3% employee contribution and 8% employer contribution
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, option to purchase up to 5 additional days
  • Private healthcare
  • Hybrid working: 2 days in the Leeds office and 3 days from home
  • Working hours: 8:30am – 5pm or 9am – 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
  • Discounted benefits
  • Free on-site parking, with a park-and-ride facility nearby as an alternative, and close walk from the train station
