Senior Production Engineer
Must-have:SeniorLead
- On-Time Delivery to Commit (OTD): Align daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules with supply chain commitments to achieve 100% On-Time Delivery to Commit, coordinating material availability and shift allocations.
- Manufacturing Cycle Time Optimization: Rigorously calculate, review, and continuously update standard cycle times across all production lines and cells; conduct time-and-motion studies to eliminate non-value-added bottlenecks.
- Changeover Reduction & SMED Implementation: Calculate, review, and systematically reduce tool, die, and mold changeover times through Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) methodologies and standardized operator setup checklists.
- First Time Quality (FTQ) & Defect Elimination: Drive First Time Quality (FTQ) across every processing stage, establishing rigorous in-process poka-yoke checks to prevent defective parts from reaching downstream assembly.
- Capacity Utilization Review & Planning: Calculate, review, update, and optimize plant capacity utilization; balance line workloads to accommodate demand fluctuations while maintaining high asset availability.
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Maximization: Track, monitor, and improve overall OEE (Availability, Performance, and Quality); partner closely with Maintenance and Tooling teams to reduce downtime in proportion to operating time.
- Health & Safety Compliance (Zero Incidents): Ensure complete workplace safety compliance; eliminate hazards, conduct risk assessments, enforce mandatory PPE and machine guarding, and minimize reportable health and safety incidents to zero.
- Downtime Reduction & Loss Tracking: Analyze downtime logs in proportion to total operating time; categorize micro-stops and technical stoppages to lead joint corrective actions with maintenance engineers.
- Rework, Scrap & Material Waste Reduction: Implement structured scrap containment, rework minimization protocols, and lean waste reduction techniques (Muda/Muri/Mura) to continuously drive down material loss and cost of quality.
- Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Champion Kaizen initiatives, 5S workplace organization, standard work combinations, and visual management systems on the production floor.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 5 to 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in industrial, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments (with at least 2 years in a senior/supervisory engineering capacity).
- Lean Manufacturing Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing tools: 5S, SMED, Kaizen, VSM (Value Stream Mapping), Six Sigma methodologies, and Poka-Yoke.
- Technical & Calculation Skills: Proven competency in calculating and analyzing manufacturing cycle times, plant capacity utilization, OEE metrics, line balancing, and takt time calculations.
- Core Soft Skills & Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, assertive communication, team working skills, and excellent negotiation abilities when resolving cross-functional trade-offs.
- Problem-Solving Capabilities: Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills using 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa/Fishbone frameworks to resolve production deviations.
- Software & Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel for OEE/capacity modeling, PowerPoint, Word) and practical experience with ERP / MES manufacturing production modules.
