Floor Supervisor

A floor supervisor oversees daily floor operations, directs staff, maintains merchandise or workflow standards, resolves customer or employee issues, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Key duties & responsibilities

Retail / hospitality

Assign and direct tasks for floor staff.

Monitor merchandise presentation, inventory levels, and restocking.

Provide on-the-spot coaching and performance feedback.

Handle first-level customer issues and escalated complaints.

Execute opening and closing procedures, including cash handling.

Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies.

Manufacturing / production

Supervise production workers (machine operators, assemblers, inspectors).

Review production schedules and make staffing or workflow decisions.

Monitor productivity data and correct operational issues.

Enforce health and safety regulations and train employees.

Maintain inventory and order materials as needed.

Requirements

Knowledge of safety standards and school policies.

Ability to manage workflow, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
