The Opportunity
A leading global investment management business is looking to appoint a Senior Business Analyst to join its Global Transformation & Change team in London.
This is a key role supporting strategic transformation initiatives across the business, with a particular focus on AML regulatory change, client data, KYC and Financial Crime processes . You will work closely with senior business leaders, functional and workstream leads, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Data and Architecture teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into practical solutions.
A significant focus of the role will be the analysis and implementation of the new EU AML Regulation (EU 2024/1624) and its implications for the organisation's client onboarding, Financial Crime and operating model landscape.
This would suit an experienced Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in Financial Crime, AML/KYC, regulatory change and business transformation , ideally gained within asset management, investment management or financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activity relating to the implementation of EU AML Regulation (EU 2024/1624) .
- Analyse complex business and regulatory issues and translate findings into practical solutions.
- Define the business analysis approach for projects and lead analysis through to delivery.
- Gather, analyse, prioritise and validate requirements from functional leads, workstream leads, SMEs and end users.
- Assess demand and the case for change, documenting business impact assessments and required actions.
- Develop and document current-state and future-state operating models, processes and requirements .
- Conduct gap analysis, impact analysis and business process analysis across complex change initiatives.
- Work with Solutions Architects, Data Architects and technical teams to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and project meetings with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Present analysis, recommendations, action plans and priorities to senior stakeholders.
- Support SMEs by providing structured analysis to inform decision-making.
- Ensure requirements and proposed solutions are appropriately documented and agreed, with stakeholder sign-off obtained.
- Analyse end-to-end data and operating models, identifying dependencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Use business modelling and process diagramming to communicate complex issues clearly.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Business Analyst with a combination of Financial Crime subject-matter knowledge and strong change delivery capability .
Essential:
- Significant Business Analysis experience within financial services .
- Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, CDD, EDD and client onboarding .
- Experience delivering regulatory change , ideally involving Financial Crime or AML requirements.
- Strong requirements engineering skills, covering elicitation, analysis, prioritisation, validation and documentation.
- Experience producing business impact assessments, gap analysis, process documentation and current/target-state designs .
- Experience working on complex change programmes involving end-to-end processes, data and operating models .
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior business leaders and SMEs.
- Experience facilitating workshops and driving requirements through to agreed solutions and implementation.
- Strong analytical and data skills, with the ability to assimilate complex information and communicate key findings clearly.
- Experience working across business and technical teams, including interaction with Architecture, Data and Technology functions.
- Experience with business process modelling and diagramming .
- Experience within asset management, investment management or broader financial services .
Desirable:
- Experience with Salesforce as a Client Master or Salesforce client data management.
- Experience working with customer reference data and client lifecycle management .
- Knowledge of EU AML Regulation (EU 2024/1624) .
- Experience using AI for business analysis or data analysis .
- Experience working within a global or multi-jurisdictional financial services environment.
What You'll Bring
You will be able to take complex regulatory or business requirements, structure the problem, assess the impact across processes and data, and translate your findings into clear requirements and workable solutions.
You should be comfortable operating between business, regulatory and technology stakeholders , facilitating discussions and presenting findings to senior audiences. The role requires someone who can work independently while bringing structure to complex change initiatives and maintaining strong relationships across multiple teams.
