Senior Audit Manager - Audit & Advisory London | Audit, Accounts & Transaction Support | Diverse Client Base

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Audit Manager to join a highly regarded professional services firm with an exceptionally diverse client base. The Audit Services team works with clients ranging from entrepreneurial SMEs and high-net-worth individuals through to large, complex multinational groups , across sectors including technology, financial services, property development, motor sport and high-end retail, as well as the not-for-profit sector. The role offers significant Partner exposure and the opportunity to combine technical audit leadership with commercial advisory and transaction support work .

The Role

As a Senior Audit Manager, you'll take significant responsibility for a diverse portfolio of clients, working closely with Audit Directors and Partners to deliver a high-quality, commercially focused service. You'll have regular exposure to business owners, Boards and senior management , providing not only audit and financial reporting expertise but also practical commercial support. Alongside your core audit responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of non-audit assignments, including due diligence, valuations, investigations and complex financial statement preparation .

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the planning, management and delivery of a portfolio of statutory and non-statutory audits .
• Work closely with Partners and Directors on both audit and wider commercial client matters.
• Build strong relationships with owners, directors and senior management .
• Provide accountancy and commercial management support to clients.
• Lead audit risk assessment, planning and execution in accordance with relevant UK auditing standards and legislation.
• Oversee the preparation of complex financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS .
• Manage assignments effectively, ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Get involved in due diligence, investigations, valuations and other transaction support projects .
• Contribute to quality control and the continued improvement of audit processes.
• Lead, coach and develop junior members of the team.
• Support proposals, pitches and wider business development initiatives.

About You

We're looking for a technically strong and commercially minded audit professional who enjoys working closely with clients and taking ownership of complex assignments. You'll ideally have:

• Significant experience in external audit and accounts preparation .
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS .
• Experience managing a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Excellent client handling and communication capabilities.
• The ability to apply technical knowledge pragmatically and exercise sound professional judgement.
• Commercial awareness and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Experience of Transaction Support, due diligence or similar advisory work would be advantageous.
