IT Director

IT DIRECTOR- Permanent – Hybrid Role – London – 2/3 days in office

An Investor backed organisation with global reach is looking for an IT Director to lead technology strategy and operations for a respected Investor backed organisation with global reach. You'll shape IT vision, oversee critical technology projects, and manage day-to-day technology delivery for 100 London-based users.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Transformation

• Develop a strategic IT roadmap aligned to organisational priorities, with full budget ownership
• Lead critical projects: data and security improvements, SharePoint optimisation, and AI adoption
• Set up and run a PMO function; manage vendor performance against clear KPIs

Vendor & Project Management

• Oversee MSP and security vendor relationships; drive continuous improvement
• Coordinate third-party delivery partners; act as escalation point for critical incidents
• Balance vendor management with hands-on involvement where needed

Operational Leadership

• Ensure reliable IT service delivery across SharePoint, Salesforce, Microsoft 365
• Assess security posture; implement infrastructure upgrades; develop security roadmap
• Support the organization's AI adoption strategy — from evaluation through pilot to governance

Stakeholder Leadership

• Build trusted relationships at board level and across the organisation
• Communicate technology plans in clear, business-friendly language
• Foster a collaborative, technology-enabled culture and manage a small team

Essential Experience:

• Executive-level IT leadership – ExCo experience – influential at leadership level
• Deep SharePoint and SaaS management (M365, Salesforce or similar CRM)
• Previous experience of developing an AI strategy and roadmap, building out an AI capability with responsible guardrails.
• Strong vendor management track record (MSPs, technology partners)
• Commercial awareness and budgeting experience
• Technical knowledge (networks, infrastructure, security, cloud)
• Experience of developing security roadmaps and ensure robust monitoring and controls
