Finance Analyst - Private Markets - Investment Structures - Goodman Masson
Goodman Masson are partnering with a leading global private markets investment firm to recruit a Finance Analyst into its specialist Investment Structures team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with up to four years' post-qualified experience to join a growing area of the business and develop specialist expertise across private equity, private credit and complex investment vehicles.
The role combines core finance with treasury, investment structures and commercial analysis, offering exposure to an evolving area of private markets. The team sits at the intersection of finance, investment and structuring, supporting a diverse range of products and working closely with teams across the wider investment platform. As the business continues to develop its investment offering, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strong understanding of how complex private market investments are structured, financed and managed.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and would suit someone who is intellectually curious, pragmatic and keen to move beyond traditional accounting. You will join a collaborative, high-performing team where people are encouraged to take ownership, ask questions and develop their understanding of the products they support.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the financial management of complex investment vehicles across private equity and credit-related strategies, developing a detailed understanding of their structures and underlying economics;
- Working across fund reporting, financial modelling and fund control, including maintaining NAV, waterfall and cashflow models;
- Supporting treasury strategy and operational cash management, including liquidity forecasting, funding requirements, leverage and foreign exchange exposures;
- Partnering with investment, structuring, legal, tax and wider finance teams to support the ongoing management and development of specialist investment products;
- Supporting the design, launch and ongoing administration of new investment structures, helping ensure their financial, operational and reporting requirements are effectively managed;
- Coordinating with fund administrators, auditors and other external providers to deliver investor reporting, annual financial statements and relevant compliance requirements;
- Preparing financial analysis, performance reporting and management information to support internal governance, committee processes and wider business decisions;
- Working with data and technology teams to enhance reporting capabilities, improve data quality and streamline processes through automation and the use of emerging technology;
- Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency, contributing to projects and initiatives as the team and its product offering continue to evolve.
Key requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with up to four years' post-qualified experience;
- Background in practice, ideally within a leading accountancy firm, or experience working within a fund administrator or an in-house fund accounting team;
- Exposure to private equity, private credit, investment management or other complex financial products;
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail;
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn, ask questions and develop a thorough understanding of the products and structures being supported.
Desirable:
- Exposure to treasury, liquidity management, cashflow forecasting, fund structures or capital markets;
- Experience working with complex investment vehicles or structured products;
- An interest in data, technology and process improvement;
- Experience using AI tools, coding languages or data analytics platforms.
