Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist Lead to support a high-profile regulatory transformation initiative within a leading international bank. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced analytics, modelling, and visualisation techniques to drive data-led decision-making across risk and transformation initiatives. You will work closely with risk leaders, technology teams, business stakeholders, and transformation teams to develop analytical solutions that improve risk management and support strategic decision-making.

The Nexa Programme is a high-profile regulatory transformation initiative established in response to regulatory findings. This programme maintains significant visibility across senior leadership.

Team & Reporting Line

The team is responsible for delivering critical transformation initiatives across Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk (OTCR). The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and highly visible, offering direct engagement with senior stakeholders.

Location & Work Mode

London, UK. This hybrid role comprises two days onsite and three days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced data analysis across large and complex datasets
  • Develop predictive models and statistical solutions using Python and SQL
  • Design and maintain data models supporting risk and transformation programmes
  • Build dashboards and visualisations using Power BI or Tableau
  • Partner with technology and business teams to define analytical requirements
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through data exploration
  • Improve data quality, governance, and reporting processes
  • Present analytical findings to senior stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Support regulatory and transformation initiatives through data-driven insights
  • Collaborate across global teams to deliver practical analytical solutions

Required Qualifications

Proven Data Scientist with experience delivering business-impacting analytics in complex environments. Strong technical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience with data modelling, machine learning, and risk analytics.

Compensation & Benefits

Rate: £750–£850 per day (Inside IR35). Contract duration: 12 months with extension potential. Benefits include 38 days annual leave and employer pension contributions.
