ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (GENERAL)
Position Title: Supervisor – Electrical Department: Design & BIM Department Assignment: Engineering Design / BIM Location: Office / Project Site Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Supervisor – Electrical to lead and supervise electrical design and BIM-related activities within the Design Department. The role will oversee the preparation and review of electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and BIM models while ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and established design and BIM processes. Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate electrical design and BIM activities for assigned projects. Review electrical plans, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documents prepared by the design team. Provide technical guidance to Electrical Engineers, Designers, and BIM Modelers. Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements. Coordinate electrical designs with Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection disciplines. Review and monitor the development of electrical BIM models and ensure proper coordination with other disciplines. Conduct and facilitate BIM coordination and clash detection activities involving electrical systems. Review electrical layouts for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, and other electrical systems as applicable. Review electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, and other relevant design calculations. Review and approve design drawings, shop drawings, technical submittals, and other electrical design deliverables within the assigned authority. Coordinate with project teams, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders regarding electrical design requirements and technical concerns. Provide technical solutions and recommendations for design issues, RFIs, and project requirements. Monitor the progress and quality of electrical design deliverables and ensure timely submission. Ensure proper implementation of design revisions and maintain document and drawing revision control. Assist in establishing and maintaining BIM standards, modeling procedures, and design workflows. Conduct design reviews and quality checks to minimize errors and design conflicts. Mentor and provide technical support to junior Electrical Engineers, Designers, and BIM Modelers. Participate in design coordination meetings, project meetings, and technical presentations. Support project teams during construction by addressing electrical design-related site concerns when required. Prepare progress reports and other design-related documentation. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Licensed Electrical Engineer (PRC) is required. At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design , preferably in building or construction projects. Experience in Design and BIM is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical building systems , including power distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, and other related systems. Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit. Knowledge of Navisworks and BIM coordination/clash detection is an advantage. Knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code and other applicable electrical and building standards. Experience in reviewing electrical calculations, plans, specifications, and technical documents. Strong design coordination and multidisciplinary coordination skills. Excellent analytical, technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet design deadlines. Preferred Skills
