Teamlead software development Horizon

For our development team behind Horizon—our customer success portal that acts as the central gateway to Cegeka's services and provides customers with support, insights, and transparency, as well as our Employee Experience Portal, through which Cegeka employees digitally manage their timesheets, absences, and expenses—we are looking for a talented and driven Teamlead. In this role, you will find yourself at the intersection of people leadership, process optimization, and product and technical expertise. Together with your team, you will help build digital solutions that have a positive daily impact on both our customers and our employees.

• You lead and coach our Horizon development team, a team of approximately 10 talented colleagues spread across an international environment (Belgium, Romania, Moldova, and Greece).
• You combine hands-on leadership with a thorough knowledge of Agile principles and help the team deliver high-quality work, while stimulating both individual and collective growth.
• You create a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across different locations and time zones.
• You facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, and ensure that Agile principles are applied in an effective and pragmatic manner, without merely following them "by the book."
• You are the owner of the Jira workflow within the team and manage the backlog structure, sprint boards, reporting, and process hygiene.
• You act as a bridge between the development team, product owners, and stakeholders, translating priorities into clear, concrete, and actionable tasks.
• You identify and remove both technical and organizational obstacles that may slow the team down.
• You support sprint and release planning, maintaining the right balance between scope, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Depending on your background, you actively contribute to technical or product-related discussions, for example, by helping to assess architectural decisions or further refining product requirements.
• You monitor the performance and deliverables of the team using relevant metrics and use these insights to drive continuous improvement, rather than as a mere compliance exercise.

Profile

• You have experience in managing, guiding, and coaching an international, distributed team.
• You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different countries, time zones, and cultures.
• You have extensive experience in Agile environments and have successfully led, coached, or facilitated teams as a Scrum Master, teamlead, or in a similar role.
• You have a background in software development or product ownership, making you a credible sparring partner for the team and allowing you to participate smoothly in prioritization discussions.
• You have sound knowledge of Jira and feel comfortable configuring boards, managing backlogs, and increasing transparency within teams.
• You possess strong communication skills and know how to effortlessly translate technical details into business priorities and vice versa.
• You are fluent in English, both spoken and written, as this is the working language within the team. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• You are willing to travel occasionally to meet team members or stakeholders in other countries.
• You have a pragmatic mindset focused on continuous improvement and see Agile as a means to stimulate collaboration and value creation, not as an end in itself.
• Experience with the Horizon platform or a similar product/domain is an asset.
• Relevant certifications such as PSM, CSM, PSPO, SAFe, or equivalent are a plus, as is experience with Confluence or other documentation tools.
• You work at least two days per week from our office in Hasselt (Corda Campus), supplemented by time in another Cegeka office (preferably Leuven) and working from home.
