Senior Java Software Engineer Digital Channels

What does this vacancy entail?

Within Digital Channels, you will work on applications that have a direct impact on the digital experience of KBC customers. As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will initially strengthen the Security, Logon & Enrollment team, which is responsible for secure access to our digital applications. You will help build solutions for authentication, identification, and enrollment that are used daily by many customers. At the same time, you look beyond your own team: you collaborate with other teams within Digital Channels and contribute to solutions that work consistently and reliably across various digital channels.

• You design and develop security components for our web and mobile applications. In doing so, you monitor quality, performance, security, and stability.
• You ensure clear and structured technical documentation.
• You work closely with technical designers, developers, functional analysts, business analysts, and business stakeholders.
• You contribute to the further modernization and optimization of the technological landscape.
• You participate in thinking about technical choices and help advance solutions beyond team boundaries.

Your assets?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree and at least five years of experience as a Java Software Engineer.
• You have a strong technical foundation and are familiar with Java and modern development practices.
• Experience with Java 21, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Git, Nexus, Maven, CI, OpenShift/Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, JPA, Hibernate, Flyway, HTTP, and REST API’s is a strong asset.
• You have knowledge of security concepts such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, mTLS, X509, CRL, JCA, and the OWASP Top 10.
• You like to take ownership and technical responsibility.
• You organize your work independently and switch smoothly when priorities change.
• You remain curious about new technologies and enjoy deepening your expertise in your field.
• You communicate fluently in English.
