Senior Child Protection Social Worker - Barnsley
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a thriving children's social work Child Protection Team in Barnsley. This is a temporary role to work within a welcoming and friendly team who are eager to attract an experienced Senior Social Worker. As a valued member of the team, you will be responsible for the assessment, support planning and reviewing of complex needs and risks for children and families, whilst providing advice and support to children, young people and their families. Some duties would include: *Section 47 enquiries *Child Protection and Child in Need work *Statutory visits *Direct work with children and the preparation and review of Child Protection plans to ensure that children are safeguarded, and their wishes and feelings remain central to decision-making. *You will attend strategy meetings, Child Protection Conferences and core group meetings, and undertake PLO and court work where cases escalate to legal proceedings. *You will liaise and negotiate with local providers, partner agencies and support networks to deliver better outcomes and contribute to practice development. You must hold a recognised social work qualification, and you must be registered with the SWE. Additionally, you will have at least three years post qualifying experience with evidence to support your ability to undertake complex statutory social work with children and families, including Child Protection and safeguarding work.
