HVAC Technician

Execute preventive and corrective maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) systems at client facilities, ensuring correct equipment operation, user comfort, energy efficiency, compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA), and safety standards.

Functions and responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC equipment, including minisplit, fan coil, package units, air handlers, chillers, and VRF/VRV systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control failures in climate control equipment.
• Verify the operation of compressors, fans, evaporators, condensers, and other system components.
• Perform cleaning of coils, filters, condensate trays, and drains.
• Detect and repair refrigerant leaks using specialized tools.
• Perform recovery, vacuum, and refrigerant charging according to manufacturer specifications and current environmental regulations.
• Measure and record temperatures, pressures, voltages, amperages, and airflow to validate equipment performance.
• Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and refrigeration schematics for fault diagnosis and repair.
• Execute operational tests after each intervention.
• Record activities performed in the work order (OT) system, including photographic evidence and technical reports.
• Timely request necessary materials, tools, and spare parts for service execution.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new HVAC equipment.
• Comply with safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment (EPP), and responsible handling of refrigerants.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the work area according to the 5S methodology.
• Participate in technical training and continuous improvement programs.

Education · Technical career in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electromechanics, Mechanics, or related.

Experience · Minimum 3 years in maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

• Experience in diagnosis and repair of climate control equipment.
• Desirable experience in maintenance of chillers, VRF/VRV, and air handlers.

Knowledge · Refrigeration cycle.

• Commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Minisplit, fan coil, package, chiller, and air handler equipment.
• Handling of refrigerants.
• Interpretation of electrical and refrigeration diagrams.
• HVAC instrumentation (manifold, vacuum gauge, leak detector, infrared thermometer, multimeter).
