Project Quality Engineer

The Project Quality Engineer leads quality activities from project kick‑off to Factory Acceptance Test and ensures compliance with internal, industry and customer requirements.
The role develops and owns quality, control and test plans, leads risk management and DFMEA, and drives lessons‑learned implementation.
The position works cross‑functionally with program and project management, product engineering, supplier and manufacturing quality, and customer quality to support audits, PPAP and FAT.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, industrial engineering or related field and 5+ years’ experience in product/project management and quality for electromechanical or safety‑critical electronic systems.

What you’ll do:
The Project Quality Engineer leads Quality activities starting from early project engagement (project kick off) until Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). Project Quality Engineer is responsible for meeting internal and external quality standards, industry regulations and Customer specifications.
Quality responsible in product projects
Participate in project team as quality team member
Responsible for the quality deliverables in project development process (prolaunch)
The scope is new product introductions and new customer adaptation projects
Lead Quality Plan development including integration of inputs from Customer, Suppliers and internal Eaton team members
Develop quality plan, control plans, test plans
Risk management
Lead risk management activities with cross functional stakeholders: project risk, product risks
Identify risk related to customer requirements, new features, new changes
Develop and lead the risk mitigation plans
Participates in D FMEA as quality expert and as voice of the customer
Lessons Learned: Lead systematic, cross-functional Lessons Learned process and cooperate with project team implementation of identified action
Project & Change Leadership
Work closely with Program and Project Management, Field Service Engineers, Product Engineering, Supplier Chain Management, Operations and other cross‑functional partners.
Clearly distinguish facts, evidence, assumptions, and conclusions
Communicate technical issues effectively to engineering, commercial, and customer stakeholders
Promote disciplined, evidence‑based quality decision making aligned to customer expectations
Is responsible for risk management, creating control and quality plans
Regulatory Compliance and Adherence to Standards
Ensure adherence to applicable Customer, industry standards and Eaton requirements.
Supplier Quality Management
Partner with Supplier Quality to ensure consistent alignment with Customer and Eaton standards.
Review deliverables and compliance evidence from external suppliers.
Support /Review audits, assessments, PPAP etc.
Manufacturing Quality
Partner with Plant Manufacturing Quality to ensure consistent alignment with Customer and Eaton standards Support /Review audits, assessments, PPAP etc.
Customer Quality
Cooperate with Customer Quality for successful Factory Witness Test/Factory Acceptance Test
Organizational Development: Training, Coaching & Capability Building
Continuously pursue self-development opportunities.
Stay up to speed with internal and external process and procedures updates and enhancements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
Solid experience (5+ years) in product and project management
Experience in risk management, control and quality plans
Experience in quality, product engineering or manufacturing engineering for electromechanical or safety‑critical electronic systems
Skills:
Electrical product and UPS knowledge
Familiarity with FMEA
Experience in Project Management
Direct experience supporting customer quality issues
Exposure to factory and site quality environments
Experience with FWT/FAT
