Retail Assistant

About the Role We are looking for energetic and reliable Shop Assistants to join our aquarium store team. In this role, you will be the face of our store—welcoming customers, assisting with daily sales, processing online orders, and maintaining clean, well-stocked displays. This is a great entry-level or junior role for anyone passionate about aquatic pets, customer service, and retail operations. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales: Greet shoppers, recommend products, catch and bag live fish/plants, and accurately process POS transactions.

Store & Tank Upkeep: Assist with basic aquarium care (water changes, glass cleaning), acclimate new livestock shipments, and maintain clean, organized retail displays.

Stock & E-Commerce Operations: Unpack/tag incoming inventory, restock shelves, pick and pack online orders, and assist with inventory counts.

Requirements Retail, cashiering, or customer service experience preferred (aquarium/pet interest is a strong plus, but not required).

Comfortable working with water, live fish, plants, and live fish food.

Friendly, punctual, and physically capable of lifting water buckets, gravel, and gear boxes.

Flexible to work weekends and public holidays (weekend allowance provided).
