Software Engineer (PHP)

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP and related technologies. Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, designers, and other developers to analyze requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs. Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and software development best practices. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production incidents promptly. Develop and integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services to support application functionality and interoperability. Participate in code reviews, software testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and security of applications. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 5 years' professional experience as a PHP Software Engineer. Experience developing enterprise applications. Experience within the power/energy sector is an added advantage. Knowledge of Java is an added advantage. Strong proficiency in PHP 7+ and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

Hands-on experience with Yii1, Yii2, and Laravel.

Strong knowledge of MySQL and database design.

Experience working in Linux environments.

Experience with MVC frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.

Solid understanding of SQL optimization and database performance.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (experience with Vue.js, React, or Angular is an advantage).

Experience using Git-based version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).

Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs (SOAP knowledge is an added advantage).

Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance optimization.

Experience building workflow management applications and enterprise software platforms.

Familiarity with SaaS application deployment.

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
