About the company

DUN XIN (ECHO) is an independent livehouse hosting liveshow, amazing live performances and DJ sets. We put on a few shows a month and care about two things: great nights for audiences and a smooth, respectful experience for the artists who play here.

Your tasks

We are seeking an active, hands-on Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) to support deck and backstage operations during live show nights. Working directly under the Stage Manager, you will help execute rapid stage turnarounds, manage artist hospitality backstage, coordinate gear positioning, and ensure the stage remains safe and organized throughout the night.

Pre-Show & Soundcheck Support

  • Assist the Stage Manager with setting up stage power, cabling, sub-snakes, and backline gear prior to band arrival.
  • Welcome performing artists, assist with green room placement, and ensure hospitality rider requirements are set up.
  • Help position microphones, monitors, and backline amplifiers according to band stage plots.
  • Assist during soundchecks to keep schedule momentum and address immediate band needs.

Showtime Operations

  • Drive rapid, efficient stage turnover between opening and headlining acts (patching, mic swaps, repositioning instruments).
  • Keep backstage and wing areas clear, safe, and free from unauthorized access or hazards.
  • Coordinate artist line-up and call times in the green room to ensure acts hit the stage promptly.
  • Assist FOH and monitor engineers with on-stage troubleshooting during live sets.

Post-Show & Teardown

  • Assist artists and touring crews with safe, organized load-out and gear pack-down.
  • Perform post-show stage strike, store venue equipment properly, and reset the stage floor for the next event.
  • Assist in inventorying venue cables, microphones, and stage hardware.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on backstage, roadie, audio assistant, or stage crew experience in a live music venue, club, or festival setting.
  • Gear Familiarity: Practical understanding of basic live audio gear (mics, stands, cabling/DI boxes) and backline equipment (drum kits, guitar/bass amps, keyboards).
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 50+ lbs (flight cases, amps, speaker cabinets) and work on your feet for extended late-night shifts.
  • Work Ethic: High energy, quick learner, calm under pressure in dark/loud live environments.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Strong collaborative attitude with musicians, venue crew, and audio technicians.
