ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER
Based on Article 107 of the Act on Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (Narodne novine, no. 87/08, 86/09, 92/10, 105/10, 90/11, 5/12, 16/12, 86/12, 126/12, 94/13, 152/14, 07/17, 68/18, 98/19, 64/20, 151/22, 155/23, 156/23) and Articles 7 and 9 of the Ordinance on the Method and Procedure of Employment in Druga gimnazija Varaždin, the Principal of Druga gimnazija Varaždin, Višnja Horvat, dipl. ing., on September 2, 2026, announces
COMPETITION
for the job position
- teacher for performing the duties of an English language teacher - one executor (m/f), permanent, part-time (6 hours of total weekly working time, 3 hours of teaching), regular duties.
Place of work: Druga gimnazija Varaždin, Hallerova aleja 6a, 42 000 Varaždin.
CONDITIONS: candidates applying for the competition, along with the general conditions for establishing an employment relationship in accordance with general labor regulations, must also meet the conditions according to Article 105 of the Act on Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (Narodne novine, no. 87/08, 86/09, 92/10, 105/10, 90/11, 5/12, 16/12, 86/12, 126/12, 94/13, 152/14, 07/17, 68/18, 98/19, 64/20, 151/22, 155/23, 156/23), the conditions prescribed by the Ordinance on Professional Qualifications and Pedagogical-Psychological Training of Teachers in Secondary Education (Narodne novine, no. 1/96, 80/99) and the conditions according to the Ordinance on the Systematization of Jobs in Druga gimnazija Varaždin.
Obstacles to establishing an employment relationship in a school institution are prescribed by Article 106 of the Act on Education in Primary and Secondary Schools.
Terms used in the competition that have gender meaning are used neutrally and apply equally to both male and female persons.
Along with a hand-signed application to the competition, in which the job position being applied for and personal data (first and last name, residential address, telephone or mobile number, and if possible, e-mail address) must be stated, candidates must attach:
- a CV,
- proof of acquired professional qualifications,
- proof of citizenship,
- a certificate from the competent court that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against the applicant for any of the criminal offenses from Article 106 of the Act on Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (not older than 30 days from the date of the announcement of the competition),
- an electronic record or confirmation of data recorded in the registry of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute.
Candidates submit documents exclusively in uncertified copies which will not be returned.
After the selection of candidates, and before signing the employment contract, the selected candidate is obliged to submit original proofs of fulfillment of the formal conditions from the competition or in a copy certified by a notary public (in accordance with the Act on Notary Activities, Narodne novine, no. 78/93, 29/94, 162/98, 16/07, 75/09, 120/16, 57/22). Failure to submit the requested documents is considered a withdrawal from employment in the School.
Candidates who exercise the right of priority in employment according to special regulations are obliged to refer to that right in the application and attach all prescribed evidence of that status with the application.
Candidates who refer to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 102, paragraphs 1-3 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (Narodne novine, no. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23), Article 48, paragraphs 1-3 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Narodne novine, no. 84/21, 13/26), Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Disabled Persons (Narodne novine, no. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19) and Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Narodne novine, no. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20), are obliged to refer to that right in the application and attach all prescribed documentation according to the special law and have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions.
Candidates who refer to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 102, paragraphs 1-3 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families must, along with the application to the competition, attach all evidence of fulfillment of the conditions from the competition and, depending on the category, all necessary evidence (Article 103, para. 1 of the Act) available at the link of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans:
Candidates who refer to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Narodne novine, no. 84/21, 13/26) must, along with the application to the competition, attach all evidence of fulfillment of the conditions from the competition and attach evidence of fulfillment of the conditions for exercising the right of priority in employment (Article 49, para. 1 of the Act) available at the link of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans:
Candidates who refer to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Narodne novine, no. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20) must, along with the application to the competition, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the requested conditions, attach the decision on established disability, or another public document on disability, based on which the person can be entered into the registry of employed persons with disabilities, and proof from which it is visible in what way the employment relationship with the last employer ended (decision, contract, agreement, etc.).
Persons of both sexes may apply to the competition in accordance with Article 13 of the Act on Gender Equality (Narodne novine, no. 82/08, 69/17).
Candidates will be evaluated in accordance with the Ordinance on the Method and Procedure of Employment of Druga gimnazija Varaždin.
The selection of candidates will be carried out through a candidate evaluation process, in accordance with the Ordinance on the Method and Procedure of Employment of Druga gimnazija Varaždin. On the School's website (https://gimnazija-druga-vz.skole.hr/oglasi-za-posao/) the area and/or content and method of evaluation, as well as legal and other sources for candidate preparation for evaluation, will be published no later than five days before the day of the evaluation.
The time and schedule of candidate evaluation will be published on the School's website (https://gimnazija-druga-vz.skole.hr/oglasi-za-posao/).
A person who submits a timely and complete application, meets the conditions from the competition, and responds to the call for the evaluation process will be considered a candidate applied to the competition.
If a candidate does not attend the assessment or testing, they are considered to have withdrawn from the application to the competition.
Untimely, incomplete, and applications that are not hand-signed will not be considered.
Notice of the competition results will be published on the School's website: (https://gimnazija-druga-vz.skole.hr/oglasi-za-posao/) within the legal deadline.
Applications with the necessary documentation are submitted directly or by mail to the School's address: Druga gimnazija Varaždin, Hallerova aleja 6a, 42000 VARAŽDIN, with the notation „Za natječaj za radno mjesto nastavnik/ca engleskog jezika“.
The deadline for submitting applications is eight (8) days from the day of the announcement of the competition on the School's website and notice board and the websites and notice boards of the Croatian Employment Service.
By applying to the competition, the candidate gives consent to Druga gimnazija Varaždin to collect, process, and publish their personal data in digital form and to store it for the purpose of conducting the public competition for employment.
