This position is located in the DEA, Human Resources Division (HRD), Compensation and Benefits Section (HRS). This position(s) primary purpose is to administer agency-wide oversight and guidance in the areas of compensation, time and attendance reporting, leave, and benefits programs.

Major duties

As a your typical work assignments may include: Directs the integration of compensation and benefits programs with workforce planning, organizational goals, and human resources objectives. Establishes program priorities, develops agency guidance, and determines the overall direction of assigned programs. Advises senior managers on program effectiveness, performance measures, workforce trends, and initiatives affecting multiple organizational components. Represents the agency before OPM, Departmental officials, interagency councils, and other Federal organizations on compensation and benefits matters.

Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-14 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing and/or providing comprehensive technical guidance in the application of rules, regulations, and procedures related employee benefits operations, such as compensation, payroll, leave administration, retirement, and employee benefits programs; 2) Directing initiatives addressing emerging employee benefits issues; and 3) Leading the integration of employee benefits programs with workforce planning and human resources objectives.
