Working alongside the other departments, you will take full ownership of the portfolio across asset strategy, transactions, leases, compliance and portfolio data. This is a great opportunity to work for an established company as they continue their journey!

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Take ownership of and maintain the UK Estates & Property portfolio strategy, ensuring asset plans align with business priorities, operating-model changes, capital allocation and long-term site requirements.
  • Maintain a single, reliable source of information for land titles, leases, easements, wayleaves, licences, farm tenancies and statutory agreements, supported by portfolio dashboards, governance controls and key trigger dates.
  • Define the commercial strategy for leases, tenancies, landlord and tenant relationships and other land rights, balancing cost, service, flexibility, operational resilience and long-term portfolio value.
  • Provide strategic oversight of third-party land requests, access arrangements, planning consultations, crossings, highway upgrades and statutory agreements, safeguarding critical infrastructure and operational access.
  • Lead the property contribution to operational, capital and strategic projects, ensuring property strategy, consents, rights, documentation and end-state requirements are addressed before delivery.
  • Establish the governance framework for property compliance, inspections and statutory requirements, working with internal teams and external specialists to ensure responsibilities, assurance evidence and exceptions are clearly visible and effectively managed.
  • Lead the integration of additional titles and property documentation, prioritising higher-risk interfaces and driving the resolution of incomplete records and remaining exposures.
  • Develop and deliver the Land & Property Value Plan, including decision-ready business cases for disposals, leases, options, redevelopment, renewable and utility uses, storage and other alternative-use opportunities.
  • Act as the commercial lead across Legal, Finance, Operations, Projects and external advisers, managing advisory spend and delivering commercially robust, risk-based recommendations.

Must have:

  • Driving license and own car
  • Proven experience managing commercial, industrial or operational property and land portfolios, balancing strategy, operations, risk and value.
  • Experience developing portfolio or asset strategies, with practical knowledge of UK planning and development frameworks and their impact on investment, valuation and land use.
  • Strong commercial judgement, strategic problem-solving, written and analytical skills, with confidence presenting recommendations and influencing complex or time-critical decisions.
  • Strategic asset management experience in industrial, energy or infrastructure settings is desirable, particularly involving pipelines, terminals, rail, COMAH-adjacent sites or statutory bodies.
  • Knowledge of property compliance, governance and assurance, including gas safety, EICRs, EPCs and licences, with strong coordination across HSE, Finance, Legal and operations.
  • Ability to maximise value through planning uplift, change of use, redevelopment, alternative uses and strategic land positioning, while assessing planning risk in valuation and disposal decisions.

Good to have but not essential:

  • Knowledge of CPO processes, highways agreements and planning consultations.
  • Experience in property integration, M&A document clean-up, data remediation and system migration.
  • Knowledge of business cases, investment appraisal and property transactions.
