The Community Services Division is seeking an experienced Programmer II - Child and Youth Services to lead the development, delivery and evaluation of recreation and community-based programs for children and youth. The successful candidate will oversee an assigned program area, guide staff, build community partnerships and help ensure programs respond to community needs.

The Programmer II provides leadership in program planning, scheduling, promotion and evaluation; recruits, trains and supervises programming and instructional staff; and coordinates facilities and program resources. Responsibilities also include community and participant needs assessments, developing partnerships with community organizations and social service agencies, contributing to strategic initiatives, and managing assigned program revenues and expenditures. The role supports efficient use of public resources and provides recommendations for service improvements.

Requirements include a university degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or a related field, three years of experience in recreation programming. Program specialty certification is required where applicable, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver?s Licence may be required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months, with renewal as required by policy.
