The District of Columbia Courts offers internships for students interested in seeking valuable experience in court administration. Interns have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Court's mission to protect rights and liberties, uphold and interpret the law, and resolve disputes fairly and effectively in the District of Columbia. This internship is for Fall / Winter 2026.

Major duties

This position is an unpaid internship working with the Operations Branch & Self Help Center in the Probate Division. The interns major duties are below: Assist the team with archiving projects. Assist the team by providing administrative support in the Self Help Center. Assist the team by providing administrative support in the Probate Division. Special projects may be assigned to assist with division data cleanup. Position is flexible to focus the duties to meet the interests and goals of the intern.

Qualifications

A U.S. Citizen or authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to intern the U.S. and at least 18 years old. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. Actively involved in an undergraduate program. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts' values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Fairness, Integrity, Respect and Transparency.

Education

Requirements

Background and security investigations are required. Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record, revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts, is required.
