Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical & Application Engineer to provide technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, power electronics, motor drives and automation solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales, project and service teams to understand customer requirements, develop suitable technical solutions and provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application engineering support for industrial electrical equipment, including motors, generators, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and power conversion systems.
• Review customer specifications, technical requirements and project documentation to recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, equipment selections, specifications, calculations and supporting documentation for customer enquiries and tenders.
• Work closely with the sales team to develop customised technical solutions and respond to customer enquiries.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, contractors and internal engineering teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve application-related issues.
• Support project execution, including engineering coordination, equipment integration, installation, testing and commissioning, where required.
• Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to explain equipment capabilities and application benefits.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide engineering recommendations to improve equipment performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with regional offices, suppliers and technical specialists on product specifications and engineering matters.
• Keep up to date with industry developments, electrical engineering standards and emerging industrial technologies.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical engineering, application engineering or technical support within an industrial equipment, electrical systems or automation environment.
• Familiarity with electrical motors, generators, variable frequency drives, power electronics or industrial control systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, equipment selections or engineering calculations would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with relevant electrical design or engineering software would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel locally or regionally for customer meetings, site visits, installation or commissioning activities, when required.
