Job Description
- Implement and maintain workplace safety and health (WSH) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore WSH legislation and relevant regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and safety training for workers.
- Monitor contractors and workers to ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, risk assessments, and permits.
- Monitor and enforce the use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures.
- Coordinate with management, contractors, workers, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions and follow up on their implementation.
- Support internal and external safety audits and inspections.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or Occupational Safety and Health.
- WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (ACWSH) or equivalent, where applicable.
- Relevant Singapore WSH experience, preferably in construction sector.
- Familiarity with Singapore WSH legislation and risk-management requirements.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Able to conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety briefings.
- Relevant registration or certification with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) where the position requires a registered WSH Officer.
