Requirement: technical orientation in electronics and fluent English, both spoken and written.

Who we are:

DigiDay is a Czech manufacturer of digital communication technologies. Since 2017, we have been manufacturing, installing, and servicing electronic official notice boards, LED screens, touch kiosks, and information systems for municipalities, cities, schools, senior facilities, and companies. We have over 1,500 implementations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia behind us, and more than 1,270 local governments trust us.

We are not a reseller. We have our own production, our own software, and our own service team. Therefore, purchasing with us is not order administration - it is technical decision-making about what is best for our clients.

What you will do

• Understand what you are buying. Electronic components and modules, LED modules and drivers, power supplies, control and communication cards, touch displays, cabling and connectors, mechanical parts and structures, material for housing and cooling.
• Translate a technical requirement into an inquiry. A designer will tell you what they need. You will turn this into an inquiry in English that the supplier will understand exactly as intended - including tolerances, IP rating, temperature range, lifespan, and required certificates.
• Search for and select suppliers in the Czech Republic and abroad, conduct inquiry processes, and compare offers not only by price but by total cost and risk.
• Negotiate prices, delivery times, payment, and warranty terms - primarily in English, by telephone and e-mail.
• Resolve technical complaints with suppliers. Describe the defect so that the other party understands it, document it, and push for a remedy.
• Monitor deadlines and stocks in connection with the production and installation plan.
• Cooperate daily with production, design, and service on component replacements, specification changes, and delivery quality.
• Gradually take over responsibility for the cost side of products - looking for savings that do not reduce quality or lifespan.

What we need from you - it won't work without this

• Real orientation in electronics. You understand the basics of electrical engineering, you know what a power supply, driver, or control board is, the difference between voltage and power, what IP rating means, and why the temperature range is important for outdoor electronics. This is a prerequisite, not something we will teach you.
• The ability to talk to technicians as colleagues. Our designers and service technicians speak technically and will not simplify things for you. You must be able to navigate this, know how to ask targeted questions, and convey information correctly.
• The ability to pass technical information to a supplier. Accurately, unambiguously, in writing and over the phone, in English. An inaccurately specified inquiry is our most expensive mistake in the entire process.
• English at a level where you can call a supplier without preparation and discuss a technical detail - both spoken and written.
• Experience in purchasing. You know how an inquiry process is conducted, how to negotiate a price, and what is hidden in delivery and warranty terms.
• A desire to go into technical details further than necessary. We expect that within a year you will learn how our products work down to the level of individual components, specifications, and their interconnections. Someone who does not want to learn will not do this job well.
• Meticulousness and independence. You will monitor deadlines and details even without being supervised.

Advantage

• Technical education - electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering.
• Experience in technical operations, production, design, or electronics service - i.e., a path from a technician position to purchasing.
• Experience in purchasing electronics or components from Asia.
• Knowledge of working in ERP or other inventory management systems.
• Reading diagrams and manufacturing [documents].

What we offer

• Salary 40,000 CZK per month after the probationary period. During the probationary period, the salary is 36,000 CZK.
• Flexible working hours and the possibility of occasional home office.
• Technical training directly at production. You will go through the products with the people who build, install, and service them, from the component to the finished board in the field. Not a catalog, but a production hall.
