Our client, an established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool, is looking for an ambitious Audit Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant seeking a varied client portfolio, greater commercial involvement and a clear pathway towards Responsible Individual (RI) status .

Working with a diverse range of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organisations and professional practices, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audits, developing client relationships and contributing to the firm's continued growth.

The Role

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Manage a varied portfolio of clients across commercial and not-for-profit sectors.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 3–4 staff.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Get involved in pitches, tenders and business development.
• Undertake ad hoc assignments, including due diligence and complex accounting projects.
• Support audit quality control and help maintain the highest professional standards.

About You

You will be ACA/ACCA qualified, with a strong general practice background and experience operating at Audit Manager level. Alongside excellent technical audit skills, you'll bring commercial awareness, confident communication skills and the ambition to make a real impact.
