Facade Designer

Job Descriptions:

1. Prepare comprehensive design drawings for curtain walls, window walls, cladding, skylights, canopies, and louvres based on architectural/structural drawings.
2. Develop detailed shop drawings, construction sections, and as-built drawings for consultant/client approval.
3. Perform design calculations (wind load, glass thickness, mullion sizing, bracket design) and coordinate with Professional Engineers (PE) for certifications.
4. Utilise AutoCAD to coordinate interfaces with M&E, Structural, and Architectural trades while preparing material specifications for glass, aluminum, and sealants.
5. Develop construction schedules, monitor progress, and prepare regular reports to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
6. Conduct site visits to verify installation compliance, resolve technical RFIs/site issues, and lead quality inspections.
7. Identify project risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure all works comply with BCA/SCDF regulations and WSH safety guidelines.
8. Support facade performance testing (water tightness, air infiltration, acoustic) and assist in mock-up preparation and lab testing.
9. Attend tender briefings, conduct site walks for measurements, and prepare quantity sheets (MTO) for accurate quoting.
10. Support Value Engineering (VE) proposals to improve buildability and design economy without compromising performance.
11. Manage materials at the site to ensure zero wastage; monitor manpower and equipment rental costs to keep projects within or below budget.
12. Act as the primary liaison between clients, architects, and main contractors; chair/attend technical meetings.
13. Ensure all staff, contractors, and suppliers are aligned on project requirements, specifications, and schedules.
14. Manage all Change Orders, Variation Orders (VOs), and design changes, ensuring they are properly documented and communicated.
15. Strong communication skills to manage consultants and clients.
16. Ability to work under tight project deadlines and respond swiftly to emergencies.

Location: Kaki Bukit, Singapore

Salary Range: S$3,000– S$4,000 (Based on Experience)

Education: Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of facade design experience in the Singapore market.

5.5 Days per Week
