Founded in 2018, Dialogic Academy is Singapore's trusted partner for debate, public speaking, and speech & drama. We work with students aged 4 to 18 across private classes at our partner centres and in the over 40 schools we work with, helping them become critical thinkers and confident communicators. We don't just teach students what to say. We teach them how to think.
Role Overview
As our private programmes expand, we're looking for Curriculum Developers to shape what our coaches teach in classes at our partner centres. These freelance roles suit educators who enjoy researching, structuring and refining programmes, and who understand what works in a real classroom with young learners.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research, design and develop public speaking and speech & drama curriculum content aligned with Dialogic Academy's oracy framework and pedagogy.
- Structure programmes into clear levels with defined learning outcomes, covering Speech & Drama (Nursery to Primary 2) and Public Speaking (ages 7 to 16).
- Create structured lesson plans, teaching materials, activities and assessment rubrics for private small-group
- Work with instructors to trial materials, and review and refine curriculum based on student outcomes and instructor feedback.
- Keep content current, engaging and consistent with Dialogic Academy's teaching approach.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Speech & Drama, Theatre, Communication or Education; Trinity College London or LAMDA qualifications preferred.
- Diploma/degree from NUS, LASALLE, NAFA or equivalent also considered.
- At least 1 year of experience in curriculum design, instructional design or lesson planning for speech & drama, public speaking or related areas.
- Teaching or coaching experience with young learners is a strong plus.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong organisational skills.
- Able to work independently, meet project deadlines and take ownership of curriculum quality.
Engagement Details
- Engagement type: Freelance, project-based
- Work location: Remote, with occasional meetings or classroom observations at our partner centres as needed
- Age groups covered: Nursery to 16 years old
- Schedule: Flexible, based on agreed project timelines
- Remuneration: Competitive project-based fees, commensurate with experience and qualifications and depending on the scope of each project
