Laser plasma acceleration, a still young technology at DESY, allows for the construction of compact particle accelerators. With a plasma-based injector for DESY's future X-ray microscope PETRA IV, DESY is performing pioneering work in the development and application of this technology. For the operation of the necessary lasers and accelerators, large cleanroom laboratories and radiation-safe buildings are required. For the operation of these laboratories and support in the planning and construction of new laboratory infrastructure, we are looking for a laboratory assistant. General laboratory organization, operation, and support of technical groups and service providers Implementation of administrative processes for the procurement of laboratory equipment and services Maintenance and servicing of devices and systems in laser and cleanroom laboratories distributed across the DESY campus Calibration and adjustment of laboratory measuring instruments Storage and ordering of consumables and cleanroom components

Completed training as a technical assistant with state recognition or equivalent skills and experience Practical laboratory experience and knowledge of working in a cleanroom Specialist knowledge in the operation and maintenance of technical measuring instruments Independent way of working as well as willingness to work in a team Knowledge of Microsoft Office and confident communication in English Look forward to a unique working environment at our international research campus.
