System Engineer Cloud (REF5861I)
Hungary's most attractive employer in 2025 (according to the Randstad representative survey) is Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Telekom Group. With more than 5300 employees, the company provides wide-ranging IT and telecommunications services. It has hundreds of large corporate clients in Germany and other European countries. In 2019, DT-ITS won the HIPA "Best Training Cooperation" award, as well as the "Most Legitimate Multinational Company" recognition in the same year. The company is continuously developing its sites in Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, and Szeged, and is looking for skilled IT professionals to join its team.
Since 2019, Deutsche Telekom MMS GmbH has been a customer and business partner of our company and is fundamentally the decisive innovation and digitalization service provider of the DTAG group. We are looking for an ambitious, German-speaking professional with experience to join the Hungarian team of this dynamically growing business unit. Our project's goal is to ensure an outstanding digital customer experience and to design modern infrastructures by providing the necessary professional knowledge. If you love a challenging, varied job, spend your weekdays in the spirit of agile working, and enjoy using your language skills in daily communication, you are our person! We are looking for an experienced cloud system engineer who would like to work in a small, self-organizing team that operates SaaS/PaaS platforms for several clients. In this position, you will play an active role in the entire operational process, from the construction and operation of the T Cloud Public infrastructure to the management of Kubernetes environments. The team works with its own internally developed automation framework, in the further development of which you will also participate.
Tasks You will build and operate cloud infrastructure in a T Cloud Public environment, using our own OpenTofu/Ansible framework. You will participate in the further development of the framework: you will create new modules and roles, and implement development suggestions. You will operate Kubernetes (CCE) environments, including Helm, Ingress, and Load Balancer components. You will build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and templates for the installation and configuration of product packages. You will define and perform operational tasks in accordance with service operations best practices. You will ensure the reliable operation of monitoring and perform troubleshooting in live environments.
Requirements Professional experience Experience in operating cloud platforms and applications (e.g., T Cloud Public / OpenStack, Azure, AWS, GCP). Thorough, practical knowledge of at least one public cloud platform. Wide-ranging system administration experience. Practical experience in operational support: troubleshooting, error analysis, incident management. Technologies Practical knowledge of Terraform/OpenTofu (modules, state management). Practical knowledge of Ansible (roles, inventories, idempotency). Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker. Git and GitLab CI/CD experience, scripting (Bash/Python), and automation. Monitoring experience (Prometheus, Grafana). Experience in automating workflows using the efficient use of AI. Language skills English language skills in writing and speaking
Advantageous Experience gained in an OpenStack-based cloud environment. Knowledge of AWX / Ansible Tower. Container security experience (Trivy / Trivy Operator). Knowledge of Active Directory / Azure Entra ID. Knowledge of Web Application Firewalls. Experience in database system administration. German language skills.
What the company offers A small, self-organizing team with high autonomy. The opportunity to shape an internally developed IaC and automation framework. Modern cloud and Kubernetes technologies in a live environment. Varied tasks during the operation of several client SaaS/PaaS platforms. An international, English-speaking work environment.
Important information about the software solution used: we do not use Terraform and Ansible as separate tools. Our own, internally developed framework combines OpenTofu/Terraform-based provisioning and Ansible-based configuration management in a unified, standardized workflow. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague who is open to learning an established framework and its conventions, and who is willing to dive deep into existing code to understand and further develop it. If you would like to work on cloud infrastructure and automation, and you enjoy understanding and improving an existing system, we look forward to your application.
