We are looking for an ambitious, German-speaking, experienced professional to join the Hungarian team of this dynamically growing business unit. The goal of our project is to ensure a high-quality digital customer experience and to design modern infrastructures by providing the necessary professional knowledge. We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Data Engineer who builds complex data platforms for our clients and also supports them with data strategy consulting. As a member of our existing team, you will work on various projects, typically in MS Fabric or Databricks-based environments. The projects support the data-driven decision-making of medium and large enterprise clients in the DACH region, from architecture assessment to the handover of a functioning data platform.

Tasks You will design scalable, cloud-native data architectures on Databricks or MS Fabric platforms. You will develop data models, schemas, and storage patterns (lakehouse, Delta, Parquet). You will design batch and streaming data ingestion pipelines. You will define ETL/ELT processes and the transformation strategy. You will implement data governance, data lineage, and metadata management solutions. You will optimize performance, costs, and resource utilization. You will develop monitoring, alerting systems, and operational runbooks. You will collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders.

Requirements Professional experience and technologies Strong experience with cloud data platforms: MS Fabric or Databricks Strong data engineering experience: SQL, Python, PySpark, ETL/ELT design Strong experience in data modeling: dimensional, normalized, and lakehouse patterns Experience with orchestration and CI/CD tools: Airflow, Azure Data Factory, GitOps pipelines Experience in performance and cost optimization (query optimization, cluster sizing) First experience with streaming and messaging solutions: Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar Relevant experience in data visualization, such as creating Power BI dashboards Personal competencies High degree of independence and responsible work performance Problem-solving mindset Very good communication skills, confident stakeholder communication Language skills German language skills at least at B2 level, English language skills at C1 level
