cargo handler - air transport

Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Work site environment:

Outdoors. Noisy. Cold/refrigerated.

Work setting:

Transportation. Freight forwarding.

Tasks:

• Drive and operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment.
• Load cargo and passenger baggage efficiently.
• Oversee the service provided is in line with standards, including maximization of available space, load control, safety and ad hoc flight instruction.
• Sort cargo and passenger baggage according to instructions.
• Position passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doors.
• Unload, sort and route cargo and passenger baggage.
• Arrange for maintenance and repair work.
• Transport freight between aircraft and airport warehouse.
• Organize and maintain inventory.

Security and safety:

Airport security clearance. Driver's validity licence check.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail.

Weight handling:

Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
