Measurement Technician
The Measurement Technician will perform field measurement work for oil and gas customers, with an emphasis on accuracy, safety, reliability, and complete documentation.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of oil and gas measurement or related technical experience preferred
- Working knowledge of gas and/or liquid flow measurement and meter calibration
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety focused
- Ability to work independently in a field environment
Job responsibilities
- Verify and calibrate gas and liquid flow meters
- Verify and calibrate pressure and temperature transmitters and liquid level instrumentation
- Inspect and verify measurement data at custody transfer points
- Perform meter tube inspections and air leak inspections
- Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and equipment issues
- Complete and maintain customer- and BLM-required calibration records and field reports
- Work closely with Production and I&E personnel to identify and resolve measurement issues
- Work independently in the field while maintaining OTS safety and quality standards
Knowledge, skills & responsibilities
- Understanding of basic gas and liquid flow measurement principles
- Familiarity with oil and gas production facilities
- Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and measurement problems methodically
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft programs
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping habits
- Strong emphasis on safety and measurement accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, Production personnel, and I&E personnel
