For the earliest possible starting date, we are looking for an Optics Expert / Optics Consultant Automotive Industry (m/f/d) in Weimar
What to expect:
- Responsible for the development and validation of competitive architectural solutions for Head-Up-Displays (HUD) in the automotive industry
- Leading the optimization of critical manufacturing and process challenges in HUD mass production
- Driving the development of highly efficient optical tools for the continuous improvement of design efficiency
- Organizing design reviews to ensure the feasibility and competitiveness of optical solutions
- Researching industry trends, quickly learning cutting-edge technologies, and applying them to product design
- Providing technical support to the relevant departments for customer service
- Responsible for system solution proposals, including:
- Examination of RFI/RFQ documents from customers, analysis and clarification of customer requirements, - Leading/supporting system concept proposals, coordinating R&D, and creating complete system solutions - On-site presentation of TA (Technical Addendum) and clarification of concerns, - Answering customer questions regarding technology assessment and providing fast and professional service to customers, supporting feasibility assessment
What you bring:
- Master's degree or higher with a focus on optics or physics (including aberration theory, physical optics, and information optics)
- More than 5 years of experience in optical design for imaging products (e.g., HUD, lenses, projectors, AR glasses)
- Proficiency in at least one optical design software (Zemax, CodeV) and one optical simulation tool (LightTools, Speos, etc.)
- Knowledge in scripting (Python, MATLAB, VB, etc.) for data analysis and processing
- Strong systematic thinking and cross-disciplinary problem-solving skills
- Fast learner with strong initiative and an energetic, passionate, curious, open-minded, and resilient character
- Excellent communication skills in English (a must) and German (a plus), exceptional presentation and written skills (PowerPoint)
