Your tasks

As a Senior Consultant AI Engineer (m/f/d), you will shape the backbone of our AI-powered products and, together with us, drive the further development of agent-based backend solutions.

• Agentic Backend Architecture: You will design and expand our LangGraph-based chatbot and agentic engine – from RAG workflows to new subsystems such as tool- and skill-capable playbooks – and make key architectural decisions for our FastAPI backend.
• From Prototype to Production: You will transition AI concepts, such as new agent capabilities or tool integrations, into robust, well-tested Python code and ensure that our services run reliably even under real client requirements.
• Technical Responsibility: As a Senior Consultant, you will take responsibility for code quality and review processes and act as a sparring partner for your team on complex backend and data model questions (e.g., MongoDB, Azure Search).
• Scaling AI Solutions: You will develop mechanisms that allow LLM-supported workflows to be configured securely, traceably, and on a client-specific basis – from tool registries to versioned prompt and skill bundles.
• Knowledge Transfer & Mentoring: You will pass on your know-how in Python, LLM integration, and software architecture to colleagues and actively drive the further development of our engineering standards.

Requirements

• Sound Python experience: Several years of practice in developing backend services with Python, ideally with FastAPI or comparable asynchronous frameworks
• LLM and Agentic know-how: Experience with LLM integrations, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, as well as orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph/LangChain or comparable agentic architectures
• Solid database and cloud understanding: Confident handling of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) as well as cloud environments, ideally Azure, including scaling, security, and observability
• Software Engineering Mindset: Experience with Clean Code, testing, linting/static analysis, and CI/CD, as well as a strong awareness of maintainability and code quality
• Strong communication skills: You prepare technical matters understandably for specialist departments and stakeholders and bring very good English and ideally German language skills as well as willingness to travel
