Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Server and Virtualization)

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work in the administration and operation of on-premises environments, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of servers and virtual machines. The position involves Windows/Linux, virtualization, patching, vulnerability management, troubleshooting, monitoring, server lifecycle, RCA, and change management, in addition to working with infrastructure automation. The professional will also work together with Security, Networks, Cloud, DBA, and Applications teams, contributing to continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.

The position requires interaction with international teams, making advanced English necessary for daily communication.

Responsibilities and assignmentsIn your work routine, you will encounter the following activities: The main responsibilities are: Be responsible for daily operations, administration, maintenance, and support of the on-premises server and virtual machine infrastructure.Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly activities for applying operating system patches and other components of the server environments.Conduct automation initiatives to reduce manual activities and increase the consistency and reliability of infrastructure maintenance.Identify, evaluate, and correct vulnerabilities related to operating systems, applications, middleware, and infrastructure.Work together with Information Security teams to ensure the resolution of security findings and compliance requirements.Coordinate and perform change requests related to firewall, network, and infrastructure.Manage the server lifecycle, including hardware updates, software upgrades, decommissioning of EOL technologies, and platform modernization.Monitor health, capacity, performance, and availability of environments.Conduct root cause analysis and infrastructure problem management.Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, patching schedules, and runbooks.Collaborate with application, DBA, network, cloud teams, and vendors.Conduct continuous improvements related to operational excellence, security, automation, and reliability.Requirements and qualificationsCheck below what you will need to know to succeed in this opportunity! Requirements Solid knowledge in Windows Server and/or Linux administration in corporate environments.

Knowledge of virtualized infrastructure platforms, such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, OpenShift, or equivalent technologies.

Solid knowledge in applying operating system patches, software lifecycle management, vulnerability correction, and change management processes.

Practical knowledge of corporate networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles.

Experience working with structured change control and governance processes in large-scale corporate environments.

Experience using internal tools and processes focused on infrastructure operation, deployment, and management.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams.

Use of Agile methodology for priority management and delivery of results in dynamic production environments.

A degree in Computer Science or a related field will be considered a differentiator. Desirable knowledge Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Experience with configuration management tools and deployment automation, such as Ansible and Jenkins.

Experience with observability and monitoring platforms, such as Splunk and Dynatrace, for identification, troubleshooting, and proactive action on infrastructure problems.

Experience with vulnerability management solutions and security patching/remediation programs.

Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments, encompassing on-premises and cloud platforms.

Knowledge of backup and recovery processes, Disaster Recovery planning, and infrastructure resilience best practices.

Experience with infrastructure hardening implementation, compliance standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
