Major duties

This is a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist position located within Case Management, Personnel Vetting, Defense Counterintelligence Security and Agency (DCSA), Department of War (DoW). Located in Boyers, PA. As a SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST (ICA) you will be responsible for the following duties: Supervise a team of Personnel Security Specialists and support staff conducting case review and quality assurance within a specific area of responsibility. Plan, direct, operate, control and evaluate the operation of the teams. Ensure the effective use of material resources necessary for day-to-day team operations, to include case distribution and compliance with all pertinent legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee the Personnel Security Specialist mentoring process and recommend formal training. Oversee internal review and auditing initiatives to ensure quality products. Resolve problems within the scope of his/her authority, referring other problems (with recommendations or solutions) to the Program Manager. Direct communication and customer service initiatives with external partners to resolve complex personnel security inquiries and facilitate seamless interagency case coordination.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-12) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Applying federal personnel security regulations and investigative standards to evaluate complex background investigations. Establishing and conducting auditing initiatives to monitor program performance metrics, compliance, and case processing trends. Participates or develops process improvement projects, ensuring a quality background investigation product. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
