Purchasing Specialist

Company: DECON S.A. Location: Aspropyrgos, Attica (On-site) Employment: Full-Time For more than 60 years, DECON S.A. has been a pioneer in the marine outfitting sector, providing high-quality technical and interior solutions to shipyards and shipowners throughout Europe. We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to manage orders, negotiate agreements, and collaborate with suppliers in Greece and abroad.

Main Duties

• Management of marine outfitting material purchases (raw materials, equipment, special constructions from subcontractors).
• Communication and negotiation with suppliers in Greece and abroad.
• Continuous search, evaluation, and integration of new suppliers and material sources.
• Negotiation of contracts, prices, and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Management of purchase orders and monitoring delivery times, as well as coordinating delivery shipments to ensure timely supply for projects.
• Communication and collaboration with the client (shipyards) regarding procurement, deliveries, and schedules.
• Collaboration with the Engineering, Project Management, and Logistics departments.
• Ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality, and project requirements.
• Maintenance of supplier, quotation, and contract records.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of reading and understanding architectural drawings.
• Knowledge and understanding of technical terms.
• Proven professional experience in Purchasing / Procurement positions, ideally in a marine, shipbuilding, or technical environment, or in construction/renovations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational ability.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Very good knowledge of English (additional languages will be considered an asset).
• Comfort in communicating with suppliers and clients.
• Careful and analytical thinking, with developed problem-solving skills.
• Team spirit and professional conduct.

Qualifications that will be appreciated:

• Experience in shipyard projects or refit, or in the construction/renovation field.
• Knowledge of marine outfitting materials and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of MS Project.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCad.
• Experience in ERP systems.
